For spray coating and sealant
systems, properly using the correct equipment is critical to
ensure safe application and to achieve the desired
performance properties of the system. Equipment used to
apply fast set systems should be a plural component
machine equipped with an impingement mixing spray gun.
Equipment for applying All Tech Industries'
coatings and sealants systems should be
operated within our equipment recommended
operating parameters. Spray machines and
spray guns must never be operated or subjected to pressures
in excess of the maximum operating pressure stated in the
manufacturer’s operating manual. Operating spray machines
and spray guns in excess of the maximum operating pressure
may cause serious injury and damage to the equipment.
Studies have shown that fast set
coatings and sealants mechanical
properties are influenced by the dynamic spray pressure.
More recent studies demonstrate that All Tech Industries coatings and
sealants systems
produced with a dynamic spray pressure of less than 2000 psi
have inferior properties to systems produces with pressures
greater than 2000 psi. Therefore, equipment used to apply
All Tech Industries' coatings and sealants systems should be capable of
producing a minimum dynamic spray pressure of 2000 psi and
150ºF with consistent flow rates.
Joint fill and caulk applications typically use a smaller
version of the same style proportioner. Often times, the
material is stored in small pressurized cylinders or day
tanks on the machine. The gun pours a laminar stream of
mixed material through a static mix or mechanical clean gun
head. The guns often have extension wands for ergonomics and
tighter joint fill accuracy.
